Food and Nutrition Services
The Department of Food and Nutrition Services provides nutritious breakfasts and lunches to all students, and provides after-school snacks in participating schools. A registered dietitian performs computerized nutrient analysis to confirm that meals comply with federal school meal regulations.

Choices are offered daily in entrees and fruits and vegetables so that students will be more likely to choose and eat a healthy school meal. We are concerned about our students' health and we offer a line of healthy choices for snack and alacarte items. Studies have shown that hungry children can't learn. To help our children start their day off right, we provide the Universal Breakfast Program in 98 schools so that breakfast is available to all children at no cost.
Applications for free and reduced price meals are available in the main office of all schools at all times. It is extremely important that parents submit applications so that students can receive free or reduced price meals and so that schools can receive other critical funding. In 2005-2006 school meal prices are:
Breakfast Lunch

Reduced Price $.30 Reduced Price $ .40
