Robert Heck

Robert Heck is now in his fifteenth year as Maryland Public Television's on-air children's host, Bob The Vid Tech. He appears weekdays between MPT's regularly scheduled children's programs in short programmatic segments and half-hour specials, researching such topics as nutrition, science, reading, communications, and transportation, to make learning fun for children and parents.
He has been honored as a program host with eight Capital Region Emmy Awards from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences - National Capital Chesapeake Bay chapter. Mr. Heck has worked as a writer, television host, actor, singer, comic, and musician in theater, film, and television, and has written scripts and performed in programs for such top companies as IBM, Sprint, Constellation Energy, Sony, ESPN, Time-Warner, and Business Week. |
Mr. Heck is a native New Yorker and an alumnus of Fordham University, with a B.S. in Marketing. He served on the Board of Governors of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for three years, as Roland Park Elementary/Middle School PTA President for two years, and currently serves on the Board of the Baltimore Education Network. He and his wife, Louise, are parents of two sons, both students in the City Schools.
