Dear Parents, Welcome to the 2012-2013 school year at Arlington Elementary Middle School. The staff and I look forward to working with you to achieve our shared goal of helping your child reach his or her potential in a setting that is safe, motivating, and challenging. Many staff members have worked hard over the summer, attending staff development opportunities and taking graduate courses, in preparation for this school year. We are committed to excellence—meeting the needs of all students. This year, our middle school will expand to eighth grade within the school complex. They become our first group of graduating eighth graders, moving from Arlington into high school. We look forward to helping them grow and become ready for that once in a lifetime educational setting. To start the year off right, each student in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade has been given a copy of The Arlington Elementary Middle School Student Parent Handbook. This handbook outlines our school’s policies and procedures for every grade level in accordance with the Master Plan of Baltimore City Public Schools. Included is the school’s policy on the following:
Please review and discuss the handbook with your child. After discussing the handbook, sign the agreement page at the end of the handbook and return it to your child’s teacher by the designated date. We look forward to working with both you and your child(ren) this school year. We aspire to work in partnership with you to provide a learning environment that will encourage your child to meet academic and social success. Again I welcome back our returning parents and look forward to meeting our parents who are new to our school setting. Sincerely, Terrelle J. Gray, Principal |
