Change in school performance plan development
Instead of developing new 2017-18 school performance plans, principals must complete brief beginning-of-year reflections based on their goals and strategies from their 2016-17 school performance plans and using recent data releases (in particular, 2016-17 PARCC results). This reflection should be completed ahead of first conferences with instructional leadership executive directors.
Reflection templates are available for principals in Doc Tracking. (New school leaders will receive an email with instructions on accessing Doc Tracking.)
For Title I Schools, reflections should include specific Title I plan information from 2016-17 and may be used to meet the Title I needs assessment requirements to support existing 2017-18 Title I plans (e.g., priority and SIG IV plans).
Note: Priority schools and SIG schools are not required to complete this beginning-of-year reflection as they have already completed a priority or SIG plan. In addition, this reflection does not apply to targeted assistance schools or charter schools.
