Expectations

Classroom Procedures

  • Follow the established classroom routines.
  • Enter the classroom prepared to learn.
  • Have all learning materials ready for the school day. (Notebook, pencils, ruler, etc.)
  • Avoid idle conversation when you are directed to work on class assignments.
  • Let the teacher help you deal with disagreements and conflicts.
  • Do not try to settle personal problems being disruptive (fighting, yelling and threatening).
  • Do not bring “goodies” and other edibles to the classroom unless they are specifically a part of your lunch.         .
  • Your notebook is a written record of your learning each day. Take it home every day for study and home assignments.       
  • Always get permission to leave the classroom and use a hall pass.
  • Always be proactive when you feel you are being bullied. Report these incidents to your teacher immediately.

Agendas

At Montebello Elementary Junior Academy it is an expectation and a requirement for every child to own a student agenda. The agendas will be used to communicate with parents and to document daily work.  The Principal will provide each child with an agenda in the beginning of the 2009-2010 school year.  Any lost agenda will have to be replaced by the child’s parent or guardian for $5.00.  Please contact a school administrator if you have any questions about this expectation.

Using the Lavatory

  • You must have permission to use the lavatory.
  • You must carry an agenda book stating the time and destination.
  • Primary & Elementary grade level children must be accompanied by a classmate.
  • Playing in the lavatory is not allowed.
  • Always use good health practices by washing your hands.
  • Writing utensils are never allowed in the lavatory.
  • Use the facilities properly at all times.

Gymnasium

  • Enter in an orderly manner and be seated in your assigned area.
  • Give your full attention to the person in charge of the activity.
  • Show that you are a good listener when the signal is given to be quiet.
  • Yelling, booing and whistling are not allowed.
  • Follow the instructions of the teacher for dismissal.
