Character and Ethics Rules

Montebello Elementary Junior Academy begins each day with the understanding or fairness. We encourages children to pursue the best part of themselves in turn building character traits such as responsibility, fairness, honesty, and diligence. The character education and PBIS program play a major role in the Edison Design and in the safe keeping of a supportive and reflective school environment. Any behavior that is inconsistent with such character traits which cause the learning atmosphere to deteriorate, became disrupted, or infringes upon the rights of others in the school will not be tolerated and may subject the student to corrective measures. Corrective measures may include but are not limited to:

Verbal Warning
Time-Out
Student and Teacher Conferences
Loss of Privileges or Activities
Conference with Parent or Guardian
Peer Mediation
Referral to FASST (Family and Student Support Team)
Referral to Academy Director
Suspension and or Expulsion
Administrative Detention
