• Field trip policy and guidance

    School teams in the process of planning field trips and experiences outside of the school building for students should review the Field Trip Policy (IJOA) and corresponding regulations, timelines, and forms.

    Please note that no student shall be denied participation in field trips because of disability or economic status, and this needs to be clearly stated on all permissions slips. Students with disabilities must be provided equal opportunity for participation, including transportation to and from the destination, and cannot be required to have a parent or chaperone accompany. The student’s IEP or 504 Plan should be available to staff coordinating and participating in field trip opportunities to ensure all accommodations, behavior interventions, and supplementary aides and services are appropriately provided. Students must not be excluded due to economic status or inability to pay.
