• Identifying site-based mentors

All principals / Deadline: July 6

Per COMAR, principals must identify all 2017-18 mentors for their school sites by Thursday, July 6. Mentors are responsible for supporting new, non-tenured teachers (i.e., those in their first, second, and third year, and experienced teachers who are new to City Schools) with co-planning, co-teaching, informal peer observations with evidence-based feedback, and regularly-scheduled support meetings. School leaders who are new to school sites are recommended to select staff who attended the 2016-17 Mentor Academy training, and who have prior experience as the site-based mentor. Details about qualifications and requirements are available here.
