• 2017-18 pre-kindergarten and kindergarten registration update

All middle school and elementary school principals and assistant principals

Schools should have begun accepting pre-kindergarten and kindergarten registration materials for Priority 1 and Priority 2 students as of April 24. However, only priority 1 students with completed registration packages should be enrolled into Infinite Campus.

Beginning Tuesday, August 1, schools should enroll priority 2 students into Infinite Campus, if space is available. Please remember that space in pre-k is limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. If a neighborhood school’s pre-k fills quickly, families should contact the Enrollment, Choice, and Transfers department to discuss pre-k placement at another school as close as possible to the child’s home.

As a reminder, City Schools uses two priority groups when placing students in pre-k at neighborhood schools.
    • Priority 1: Children who will be four by September 1 and are low-income* or homeless, will be given priority for placement at their neighborhood school. Children who will be four and receive special education services will also be given priority for placement.
    • Priority 2: Children who will be four by September 1 but are not low-income*, homeless, or receiving special education will be given second priority.
