• Mayor’s student recognition event

    High school principals and assistant principals / Deadline: May 18

    Mayor Catherine E. Pugh would like to invite City Schools’ valedictorians, salutatorians, top CTE performers, and meritorious service learners to an event honoring them on the afternoon of Wednesday, May 31 at the War Memorial Plaza. School leaders are asked to identify and submit information for the following students by Thursday, May 18:
    • Valedictorian and salutatorian: Students with the top GPAs at your school.* 
    • Top CTE performer: Graduating senior with highest GPA among those receiving a CTE industry certification. Students should have a GPA of at least 2.5.*
    • Meritorious service learner: Graduating senior with the most service learning hours. Recipients should have at least 150 service learning hours and a GPA of 2.5.
    * Note: The survey linked above allows for the top five current performers to be listed, in case of shifts due to final grades.

    Details are currently being coordinated by the Office of the Mayor. The College and Career Readiness department will contact schools regarding final student status prior to sending invitations.
