Emergency safety plans and evacuation floor plansAll leaders
Required drills should be conducted each month. The next drill verification report is due in May.
Emergency plans and evacuation floor plans are required under COMAR. All schools, including charter schools, must have Critical Response and School Emergency Management Guide and Site-based Emergency Safety Plan binders readily accessible in the main office. Additionally, all occupied areas (e.g., offices, classrooms, kitchens, cafeteria, auditoriums) must have floor plans that show primary and secondary evacuation routes, and designations for physically disabled students and staff with special health needs. For questions, visit the Emergency Preparedness & Response resources online at City Schools Inside or email Alice Watson in the Health and Safety department at AAWatson@bcps.k12.md.us.Click here for other items in the March 9, 2017, Leadership Action Update.
