• Second formal observations for BTU employees

    All leaders / Deadline: April 3

    Second formal observations for all BTU employees must be completed by Monday, April 3. The forms and related evaluation tasks are based on job title and automatically generate in the manager self-service section of the OPMS.

    For all BTU employees and in accordance with COMAR, two formal observations must be conducted to ensure an annual evaluation can be sustained. It is recommended that leaders and qualified observers complete formal observations on a rolling basis to allow time to resolve technical difficulties or questions.

    All supervisors should review their roster of BTU employees and ensure that
    • Two different qualified observers complete the first and second formal observations
    • For employees who need additional performance support, documented strategies and resources are in place
    • Employees who did not have a first formal observation (including staff who were on leave or who were recently hired into a classroom teacher job title) have two separate formal observations conducted and uploaded into OPMS 
    The electronic system will remain open for one work week after the contractual deadline, closing for entry on Tuesday, April 18.
