• MISA administration window and new high school science sequence

High school principals and assistant principals
This year’s Maryland Integrated Science Assessment (MISA) field testing for 5th- and 8th-grade students will be administered from March 13 to 31. MISA field testing for high school students begins in the 2017-18 school year.

To prepare for the MISA, high school students will need to take courses in biology, chemistry, and physics aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards. Earth and space content will be integrated into each course. Initial units are available, and the remaining units will be released for the 2017-18 school year. Starting in the 2017-18 school year, all incoming 9th-grade students will take the NGSS-aligned biology course. See the 2017-18 scheduling guidance for more details.
