• Test coordinator training

    All principals and assistant principals: Deadline: January 20

    To prepare for upcoming PARCC, Maryland Integrated Science Assessment (MISA) and Alt-MISA, and Multi-state Alternate Assessment (MSAA) administrations, mandatory professional development sessions will be provided for all school test coordinators and their alternates. All sessions will be held at the Professional Development Center at 2500 E. Northern Parkway, and
    attendees must register by Friday, January 20

    Alt-MISA/MSAA

    Sessions will provide information and support as outlined below.

    PARCC
    April 18 to June 5
    • Grades 3 to 12: English language arts and mathematics assessments for students in grades 3 to 8; Algebra I and II and English 10 and 11 for high school students
    • Students can complete practice tests to help prepare for the test administration 

    MISA
    March 13 to 31
    • Grades 5 and 8: Replaces the Maryland School Assessment (MSA) in science 
    • Review the science curriculum

    Alt-MISA
    March 15 to May 19
    • Grades 5, 8, and 11: For students with significant cognitive disabilities who are unable to participate in the MISA, even with accommodations 
    • Review the science curriculum

    MSAA
    March 27 to May 12
    • Grades 3 to 8 and grade 11: English language arts and mathematics assessment for students with significant cognitive disabilities who are unable to participate in the PARCC assessment, even with accommodations 
    • Students can complete practice tests to help prepare for the test administration
