Implementation of prioritized spendingAll leaders : Deadline: January 17
As part of developing a balanced budget for the 2017-18 fiscal year (FY18), the Finance Office is identifying ways to close a $129 million gap between anticipated revenue and expenses. Savings in the current FY17 can be applied to closing next year’s gap and have been identified as an important tool for balancing the FY18 budget.
To maximize savings, prioritized spending will be implemented districtwide effective January 17, and all nonessential spending will be suspended. In addition, funds will no longer be transferrable from personnel to nonpersonnel budgets. Please review this memo from Chief Financial Officer Donald Kennedy for implementation guidelines.
