    * Planning for inclement weather or other emergency districtwide school closings: To provide the spring break on the dates noted above, the district will require a waiver from the state to extend the school year beyond June 15 (a Saturday); if the district must close schools for one or more days, that waiver would request further that the school year extend past June 17. If the district applies for a waiver and is denied, this would necessitate the removal of days from spring break. Without a state waiver, spring break would be shortened by the number of days required between April 15 and 18.
