• Registration for upcoming professional development

All leaders / Deadline: January 17

Professional development options for January 27 and February 17 will be posted on the Professional Growth System (PGS) by Monday, December 12. Registration for both days will close on Tuesday, January 17. Registrations will be processed as they are received, and sessions may reach capacity prior to registration closing.

For morning sessions, most staff will report to their school site, though some (including K-8 technology teachers, library/media specialists, and chemistry and biology teachers) will be asked to attend full-day, off-site professional development. School leaders and instructional leadership teams will share Cycles of Professional Learning content received during the January principals’ meeting. When planning morning content, please be mindful that many teachers will be reporting to locations for afternoon systemic PD sessions that begin at 12:30 p.m.

In the afternoon, staff will have the opportunity to attend content-specific sessions which will be posted in PGS. Teachers should register for the sessions that best meet their needs and should note the information below.

    • Course offerings in PGS are for both January 27 and February 17.
    • Course descriptions should be read carefully. Many courses will include registration for both days. For example, if a 6th-grade math teacher registers for a 6th-grade math session, that registration covers entry into sessions on both January 27 and February 17. However, in some cases, teachers will have to register for two separate sessions – one on January 27 and the other on February 17.
    • Based on feedback from teachers and facilitators, 1st- to 5th-grade English/language arts sessions will be offered in teacher facilitator classrooms; specific details about session locations will be provided to registrants.
