Building Effective Teams - Summer Leadership Series
All principals and assistant principals | Deadline: July 11
City Schools Office of District and School Leader Support and Development, in partnership with the Offices of Academics, Employee Effectiveness, and Family and Community Engagement, is hosting a summer leadership professional development series focused on building effective teams in schools.
The series consists of 4 related, but independent, sessions:
Session 1: Laying the Foundation (July 13, 2016 from 9 – 11 a.m.)
This session will focus on the characteristics of a strong team and the importance of creating a team-oriented culture in your school
Session 2: Building your Team Through Teaming Structures (July 20, 2016 from 9 – 11 a.m.)
This session will focus on how you leverage staff as a team member in your building and how to identify structures most conducive to your teaming culture and school goals.
Session 3: Welcoming New Teachers on to the Team (July 27, 2016 from 9 – 11 a.m.)
This session will focus on how school leaders can work with and support new teachers in becoming a part of the larger school team and culture.
Session 4: Engaging the Community as a Team Member (August 3, 2016 from 9 – 11 a.m.)
This session will focus on how schools can identify and partner with community organizations, foundations, and businesses as an integral part of a school team.
