• Middle School Behavior Management Program

All middle school principals and assistant principals | Deadline: June 15

Johns Hopkins University and the U.S. Department of Education is bringing a unique opportunity to City Schools. This project is called The Double Check Model. It is designed to help middle school grades increase student engagement, performance, and behavioral outcomes while developing the teacher’s instructional delivery and proactive behavior management. At no cost, schools will directly benefit from five professional development workshops for teachers followed by one-to-one coaching sessions, throughout the year. The Double Check Model utilizes five defining components:
    1. Reflective thinking about children and their “group” membership,
    2. Effective communication,
    3. Authentic relationships,
    4. Connection to curriculum
    5. Sensitivity to students’ cultural and situational messages
