Summer reading logs
All Elementary school principals/assistant principals | Deadline: May 20
To encourage students to continue reading over the summer and help keep track of their reading, the district is providing every student in grades pre-k to 4 with a summer reading log. Reading logs will be delivered to schools the week of May 16. The boxes contain the reading logs and letters from the Acting Chief Executive Officer in English and Spanish. Please distribute them accordingly.
The log is meant to be filled in every day with the number of minutes a student reads. Throughout the summer, students can take the log to any Enoch Pratt Free Library to win prizes.
The three schools that show the biggest increase in participation in the summer reading program from last year to this year will win the following prizes:
1st place: $1000 for the school's budget and a party with special guests
2nd place: $500 for the school's budget
3rd place: $250 for the school's budget
