• Annual evaluations for BTU employees: Ineffective or unsatisfactory rating

    All principals and assistant principals  |  Deadline: May 1  

    Per City Schools’ contract with the Baltimore Teachers Union (BTU), employees in BTU who are to receive an annual evaluation rating of Ineffective/Unsatisfactory must receive notice by May 1. Our BTU employees are evaluated either in the Teacher Effectiveness Evaluation or the Performance Based Evaluation System based on job title.

                 For Classroom Teachers:

      • In the last week of April, supervisors will receive a notification message from OPMS when the reports are ready for access. Only annual evaluation reports with an Ineffective rating will be accessible.

      • Prior to May 1, supervisors must discuss the annual evaluation with impacted teachers.  

    For Other-Teacher Level and Related Service Provider Employees:

      • Prior to May 1, supervisors must complete the PBES Annual Evaluation form electronically in OPMS and share it with the employee. This form has been available electronically since the beginning of April.

     All evaluations and evaluation tasks must be completed electronically in OPMS by the appropriate deadline.
