Social justice classroom resources
All middle, middle/high school, and high school principals
All middle, middle/high school, and high school principals are encouraged to share the updated classroom resources designed to support teachers and parents looking to help students understand issues of social justice and better facilitate difficult conversations. The latest resource addition is an interactive lesson plan to be utilized in secondary classrooms (grades 6-12). The lesson plan has been piloted in City Schools and leads students through a process of evaluating methods of protest, and analyzing whether those methods have been effective in the past. It also allows the students to grapple with what it means to be “effective” and “successful” in the context of a protest or movement by analyzing events from the past. The updated resource library lesson is posted under “Social Justices Resources” on TSS and contains a folder labeled “Creating Change”.
