• January HSA administration

    High school principals and assistant principals   |   Deadline: December 17  

    The January High School Assessment (HSA) administration window for biology and government is January 11 – 22 for all students

    • Who are completing a semester-long biology and/or American government course in January 2016 
    • Who have previously passed the biology course, but have not yet passed the biology HSA 
    • Who have previously passed the American government course, but have not yet passed the American government HSA 
    Note: Students who entered 9th grade in the 2012-13 school year are NOT required to take or pass the government HSA.

    Training for all HSA school test coordinators will be held on Thursday, December 17 at PDC (2500 E. Northern Parkway, lab 108) at the following times 

     Community Learning Network  Time
     CLNs 8 and 9  12:00-1:30 p.m.
     CLN10, Charters, AOPs  1:45-3:15 p.m.

    The January HSA will be administered online unless a school does not have the proper resources to do so and therefore must request to use ‘paper and pencil testing’ by emailing Ryan Jones in the Achievement and Accountability Office no later than Wednesday, December 16.

    In preparation for the January 2016 HSA administration, all schools should
    • Have their school test coordinator and/or technology coordinator ensure all computers (laptops and desktops) are functional and able to access the internet (via Internet Explorer 11) and/or have the TestNav icon on each computer
    • Ensure all students know their unique computer student login information (username and password) prior to testing day
    • Principals should develop an assessment schedule, with their school test coordinator, that provides adequate time for all students in both subjects that includes time for make-up days
