• Ensuring continuing medical benefits for families

    Elementary and elementary/middle school principals and assistant principals

    The Maryland Department of Human Resources and Baltimore City Department of Social Services have asked City Schools for assistance in sharing information with families regarding Medical Assistance Benefits (Medicaid). Eligible families must enroll with the Maryland Health Connection in order to ensure continuing coverage, and state and city agencies have determined that numerous families with young children may be in danger of losing coverage. Households in the following zip codes are being targeted to receive additional information about these benefits and the enrollment procedures: 21213, 21215, 21216, 21217, and 21229. 

    If your school is in one of the above zip codes, please watch for a delivery of flyers from the Department of Social Services. A sufficient quantity will be provided for backpacking home with each student.
