• Annual technology inventory

    All leaders   |   Deadline: October 16

    The annual technology inventory begins October 2 in all schools, remote locations, and district offices. Leaders at each location must identify at least one inventory manager by Friday, October 16. Schools may also assign additional inventory technicians. Once identified, schools and offices may begin updating the inventory management database. All inventories must be complete by December 23.

    The technology inventory is part of required oversight of district-owned technology tools and adherence to audit requirements. The information collected also supports classroom instruction, the delivery of online assessments, and future purchasing decisions.

    Inventory managers and technicians must meet be

    • Employees of Baltimore City Public Schools 
    • Able to lift a computer 
    • Familiar with technology devices, web applications, and Microsoft Office 
    • Responsible for updating the inventory database and “owning” unassigned assets in your building 
    • Available to complete and maintain the inventory database 
    • Able to meet all timelines 
    School process

    Assistance with identifying, verifying, and updating inventory managers/technicians can be found on Principal’s Dashboard. TSS-based training can be accessed by selecting the “Technology Inventory” icon. The Information Technology Office will also offer training for new school-based inventory managers on Thursday, October 15, at the Professional Development Center. Registration is open under “New Inventory Manager Training” in the Professional Growth System.

    Process for district offices and remote locations

    An Office 365 site will be shared with each special assistant to identify cost center inventory managers. Additional Office 365 access can be granted by emailing Stan Wolfe in the Information Technology Office. TSS-based training information can be accessed by selecting the “Technology Inventory” icon. Training sessions for all district office staff will be held on Friday, October 23, in the basement-level training lab. Register is open in the Professional Growth System under “New Inventory Manager Training for District Office.”
