Federal and state regulations require all schools to have an annually updated, accessible, site-based emergency safety plan and to review that plan periodically with all building staff. To ensure compliance, school leaders must ensure that safety plans are uploaded to specific school folders in TSS no later than Tuesday, September 8.
Please visit the Health and Safety area of City Schools Inside to find the Critical Response and School Emergency Management Guide, safety plan template, and the drill and evacuation log template, which have been updated for the 2015-16 school year. Notable updates (found in the Appendix to the guide) include a reduction in the requirement for fire drills and changes regarding visitor screening.
