$1,000 prize for summer reading
Elementary principals and assistant principals | Deadline: August 1
In May, schools received copies of the Enoch Pratt Free Library’s summer reading log, and school leaders and staff were asked to encourage pre-k to 4th-grade students to participate in the library’s “Every hero has a story” summer reading program. Please remember that schools can also enter a district-wide competition sponsored by The Campaign for Grade-Level Reading, with a $1,000 prize for the school with the biggest increase in number of students registered for the library’s reading program. The winner will also receive a hero-themed party for students at the beginning of the school year. Entries will be accepted through the summer. By tracking progress in their reading logs, students can also win great prizes at the library throughout the summer. For questions, please email the Teaching and Learning department.
