Lunch free to all students
All principals and assistant principals
We are pleased to announce that, beginning Monday, June 1, all students will be able to eat both breakfast and lunch at school at no cost. City Schools is participating in the Department of Agriculture’s “Community Eligibility Provision,” which allows the district to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students without requiring households to complete a meal application each year. The district’s participation in the program also means that student PIN numbers will no longer be needed for cafeteria services. The free fresh fruit and vegetable and after-school snack programs will continue for all participating schools.
Please let your families know about this exciting new program by sending a letter home and/or placing a call to parents and guardians prior to June 1. For your convenience, templates for these communications (English and Spanish) are provided.
