Food service inspections
All principals | Deadline: April 15
In accordance with the Baltimore City Code and state and federal regulations, inspections of City Schools’ food service kitchens were recently performed by the city’s Bureau of Water and Wastewater. Regulations require food service operations to have discharge permits, grease control devices, and maintenance plans to eliminate or minimize fats, oils, and grease in public sewer lines. Schools found to be in noncompliance were issued violations.
Principals are assured that district office departments are working with the City of Baltimore to ensure administrative penalties are not issued and are developing strategies to comply with the new regulation. For questions or concerns, email Alice Watson, director in the Health and Safety department.
