Update on the CEO Listening Tour
Middle and high school principals | Deadline: December 22
Dr. Thornton and Student Commissioner Eddie Hawkins continue to hold monthly meetings with students to hear directly about the issues, topics, and programs that matter to them. The meetings in the CEO Listening Tour are open to all middle and high school students and take place at schools around the city.
In preparation for the fourth stop on the tour, middle and high school principals are asked to actively recruit and send students to represent themselves and their schools. Also, please advertise the event in multiple ways by posting this flyer, making announcements, and emailing students through City Schools' e-mail or Naviance.
The theme of the fourth stop is “All About Academics.” It takes place at City Neighbors High School (5609 Sefton Ave., 21214) on Monday, December 22, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Students are expected to arrive prepared with questions to ask or thoughts to share with the CEO and Student Commissioner. The first 15 to 20 minutes will include information sharing based on the theme of the night; however, the majority of the evening is set aside for listening to students.
You are encouraged to provide your students with incentives for attendance, such as service learning hours, CAS hours, or extra credit. After the session, principals will be provided with a list of students who were in attendance so that incentives can be accurately awarded.
