21st Century Community Learning Centers grants

The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) has announced the solicitation for application for the competitive 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant.
The purpose of the grant is to create community learning centers that provide students with academic enrichment opportunities as well as additional services designed to complement their regular academic program. Community learning centers must also offer literacy instruction and related educational development for families of participating students. Proposed activities target students and families of students who attend schools with schoolwide Title I programs or schools that serve a high percentage (40 percent or above) of students from low-income families.
Grants will be for $50,000 to $400,000 per year, for a three-year period. Applications are due by Wednesday, January 7, 2015.
