Training on assisting students with college financial aid applications
All principals | Deadline: December 8
With the FAFSA available on January 1, graduating high school seniors should now begin pursuing financial aid for college. College Goal Maryland and the U.S. Department of Education have partnered with City Schools to deliver a financial aid training covering changes to federal guidelines, updates to state scholarship and grant programs, and information from local scholarship providers. To ensure that students receive the most up-to-date and relevant information, all counselors who work with high school seniors are required to attend this training.
The training will be held on Wednesday, December 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Owings Mills campus of the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC). Free parking is available. Presenters will be on hand from the Department of Education, Maryland Higher Education Commission, College Goal Maryland, local colleges, CollegeBound Foundation, and Central Scholarship Bureau.
Please ensure that any counselors who have not yet sent an RSVP do so by emailing College Readiness Specialist Mavis Jackson in the Secondary Education Services department by Monday, December 8.
