Missing 1st-quarter grades
All principals | Deadline: November 21, 2014
Although the 1st quarter closed more than two weeks ago and report cards were distributed last week, a large number of 1st-quarter grades remain to be entered. These grades must be entered in order to ensure that parents and students receive accurate, complete information about school performance, that transcripts are up to date, and that composite scores for 5th- and 8th-grade can be calculated for the middle/high school choice process.
Please work with your staff to ensure that all 1st-quarter grades are entered into SMS no later than Friday, November 21.
To view the number of missing grades for your school, see Data Cleansing Report #126 in eweb. For detailed guidance, including screenshots, please refer to elementary grade entry and secondary grade entry. Elementary schools (serving pre-k to 5 or 8) should note that the “Not Taught This Quarter” (NTQ) recording option must be entered in SMS to communicate to parents that the course was not taught to the student during that marking period. (This selection in unlikely for secondary SMS schools serving 6-8, 6-12, or 9-12.)
For questions, please contact the Achievement and Accountability Office.
