About the PrincipalMark Gaither has been in education since 1990. After graduating from Haverford College outside of Philadelphia, PA, Mr. Gaither began teaching as a Pre-Kindergarten and 5th grade assistant. Each day he would transition from working with three and four year olds in the morning to 10 year olds in the afternoon. This was the beginning of 15 years, working in a variety of settings across the nation, including providing professional development and literacy support in the Providence Public School System in Providence, RI.While in Rhode Island, Mr. Gaither graduated from the University of Rhode Island with his degree in Educational Leadership, qualifying him to be a school administrator. In 2005, Mr. Gaither returned to Baltimore and assumed the position of principal at Wolfe Street Academy. During his tenure at Wolfe Street the school has become a Community School in 2006 and a Conversion Charter in 2007. It has also increased its enrollment and has been honored locally and nationally for academic success and a deep network and system to support the entire family and child.Mr. Gaither is a graduate of Baltimore City Public Schools and holds two masters degrees in early childhood/elementary education and educational leadership. Mr. Gaither lives in Baltimore with his wife and two boys.
