Over the course of five weeks, students from Baltimore City Public Schools participate in a program called Leadership in Media Production. The concept is to learn, develop, and produce projects such as public service announcements, news reports, and promotional spots for Baltimore City Public Schools and its community on Educational Channel 77.
Sponsored by Youth Works, Baltimore City Public Schools, Education Channel 77, and City Schools' Career and Technology Education(CTE), the program gives students an opportunity to learn how to write scripts, produce stories, shoot video, edit on computers, and understand the role of leadership in media production. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a certificate for their improved leadership and media production skills for the 21st century.
If you would like to participate in Leadership in Media Production for the summer of 2017, you must register with Youth Works
first. Once you have been approved by Youth Works, then you can submit your approval receipt to Jim Mahjoubian
, who runs the Leadership in Media Production program. This must be done to be considered for participation in this summers program.
