• Alphabet Review: Students will review the alphabet (taught in 3rd grade) to reinforce their knowledge of how the letters sound in Spanish, especially the vowels. Being able to listen to and pronounce the correct sounds for the letters will allow students to build language fluency. The goal is that they can read and pronounce familiar and unfamiliar words in the language.
    Soy = I am: Students are learning how to describe themselves in Spanish. The sentences they will form begin with Soy. Click on the links below for the notes from class and the class work the students completed to practice this skill.

    Cognates The students are studying cognates which will help build their Spanish vocabulary while also improving their English vocabulary.

    Hispanic American Unit: Students in the 4th grade will be learning about Hispanic Americans in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month which is celebrated between September 15th and October 15th each year. Hispanic Heritage Month honors the diverse peoples of Spanish-speaking backgrounds who have come to the United States from many countries around the world. Students will be able to share, discover, and appreciate the contributions and rich heritage of Hispanics in the United States.
