The main office is located in room #100 on the main floor of the building and is open form 6:30a.m. – 4:30 p.m. It is a place of business, there is not loud talking or yelling in the office. Students may not enter the main office until 7:30 a.m. and then only for business purposes. Students who are referred to the main office will sit quietly until an administrator is available to see them. Students must have a pass or a referral to enter the main office during the school day. If you are called down to the offices you are still required to have a pass form your teacher. It is your responsibility to ask for the pass if the teacher dismisses you without one.
The guidance office is open from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Students may sign up to see the College Bound Specialist, Advisory/Career Coordinator and/or the Guidance Counselor at the table outside of the Guidance Office. Please print your name, reason for visit, and who you would like to see clearly. The person most qualified to answer your question will contact you within two school days.Students who do not have a pass will not be allowed entry to the Guidance Office. This procedure has been set in place to ensure that all students are on task and to allow for those in the Guidance Office to see to all of the activities they are responsible for. Remember that although your concern is important those in the Guidance Office are also working hard to make sure that all students college, advisory, career, and counseling needs are met.
There is a school-based health center located on campus. The health center is located in room #103and the hours of operation are Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. In order to receive services from the health clinic, students and parents must fill out a health center registration form. If a student did not receive a registration form in homeroom, he/she may pick one up in the main office. By law the school is unable to treat students who have not turned in a complete health center registration form. This form is where your parent/guardian grants permission for the nurse to treat you, this form must be filled out every year. If there is an ongoing health issue (i.e. asthma, diabetes, bladder problems), students must provide medical documentation to the main office every year. This documentation will also help to excuse tardies and absences, as well as frequent trips to the bathrooms if it is medically needed. A note from parent is not sufficient.
If a student becomes ill, the student will be excused to the health clinic at the teacher’s discretion. If warranted, a parent/guardian will be contacted. If it is determined that leaving school is absolutely necessary, students may be picked up by parents/guardians. Note: No student shall be released to any person other than authorized parent or legal guardian without written permission except in the case of student arrest.Note: Students should do their best to come to school with all needed personal hygiene products every day. The health clinic has a limited supply of personal hygiene products and is not a store.Every teacher is issued personal hygiene supplies, if you have an emergency please ask your teacher for the personal hygiene product you need. If they are unable to assist you they will write you a pass to the appropriate office.
