                                         Welcome Scholars and Families,
We have been anticipating your arrival on campus for the 2015-2016 school year.  Throughout the summer, teachers, staff, school leaders and I have been planning for a great year!  We are welcoming students from several schools and programs in Baltimore City and across the WORLD!  Our English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Program has added to the cultural diversity of our school family and we are excited about the opportunities that await us. Also, our newly added Program for Autistic Learners (PAL) will enhance the lives of many students. New students bring new ideas, insights, energy and strength to our community.  Returning students bring a welcomed knowledge of Vanguard's traditions and expectations.  Together, our teachers and staff will work to enrich the hearts and minds of every scholar.  ~  I am proud to say that our dedicated teachers and staff are prepared and committed to go above and beyond to support you and your child.  We target student growth academically, socially and physically.  Our school wide goal this year is that EVERY student increases his/her reading level by one grade each quarter.  To that end, we are on a quest to read, read, read!  We welcome donations of books and technology that support our quest. ~  Our school-wide expectation is that every child is always ready, responsible and respectful.  These essential behaviors set the foundation for grooming young leaders to reach their full leadership potential.  I encourage parents to join the PTO and School Family Council to support our efforts.  I look forward to an amazing year of positive growth and phenomenal change as we work to achieve the goals that we will set and work to achieve, "together".
