Over the course of six weeks, 15 students from around Baltimore participated in a summer program called Leadership in Media Production for the 21st-century. Sponsored by Youth Works, Baltimore City Public Schools, Channel 77, and City Schools' Career Technology Education, the program gave students an opportunity to learn how to write scripts, produce stories, shoot video, edit on computers, and understand the role of leadership in media production.

Dear School Community,
We are excited about the beginning of our third year of school turnaround. We have made major strides over the past two years. In many ways, we have even exceeded our own expectations.
Our school community has experienced major shifts that have led to quality feedback and recognition on the state and national level. We are committed to the turnaround of our school and the academic success that comes along with true school improvement.
At this juncture, I encourage you to use this site as a tool and continue to visit our site for key communications as we continue to advance our school.
For the upcoming school year, our guiding theme is going to be “ONE DOUGLASS.” Although we are a school comprised of two academies and many quality programs, we are one school with one clear vision. Our primary focus is to evolve into the district’s distinct early college option for high school students. Beyond preparing our students for college and career readiness, we plan to send more students to college while they’re still in high school than any other school in the district. We plan to focus on shifting the trajectory of student’s lives while they attend our school.
We have our work cut out for us, but our staff remains focused and relentless. We are committed to this work at the highest levels of fidelity. We encourage you to join us for the journey and revisit our site for constant updates.
