  • Black Tie Baltimore to benefit Midtown Academy

On Saturday, January 24, 2015, many pulled out their tuxes and dresses to support a great cause.  Black Tie Baltimore, was held at the Baltimore Museum of Industry to support three educational nonprofits:  Midtown Academy, Carson Scholar Fund, and Teach for America.

There were hors d’oeuvres and food from Sascha’s, a DJ playing music, and a photo booth from Pixilated.  Later in the evening the Blue Label band took stage and the dancing didn’t stop.  Members of Blue Label have played over 10,000 live shows and performed at half-time shows for Philadelphia Eagles and pre and post game shows for the Phillies, Flyers, and Washington Nationals.

The night was abundant with networking, dancing, music, and lots of laughter.  We hope all Midtown Supporters can join us for this special event next year!

Huge thanks to the host of the event and Midtown Board President, David Ross.

Every year Midtown hosts a Holiday Shop that allows students the opportunity to shop for family members.  Donations are currently being accepted.  We are looking for items to sell such as picture frames, candles, toys, scarfs, gloves, hats, etc.  All donations should be brought in to the schools main office.  Please clearly mark your donation with your child's name and grade so that MGame points can be applied.  If you have any questions please contact Ms. Jones in the main office at 410-225-3257.

Did you know Midtown teachers often list items on Donors Choose to help enhance thier student's learning? Earlier this year Mrs. Engel received funding for her annual butterfly and seed kits, over a $200 value. Ms. Ward recently received funding for over $200 dollars worth of new books for her student's library. Ms. Kassel has recieved over $200 worth of Math games!  Mrs. Engel and Ms. Whitty's most recent Donors Choose project enabled their class to recieve Kindle Fire tablets.  Thanks to all who have donated to these worthy projects and keep an eye out for many more!
