  • BLACK HISTORY SOIREE
Thank you to all who worked so hard to create as well as all who came out and supported Midtown's Black History Soiree this past Sunday.  Students were able to share work, incredible food was brought and eaten as part of the cookoff, and all were able to enjoy a historic community gathering and fellowship. This years theme was African Americans in the medical field. Take a look in our pictures folder at the top to get a sampling of exciting moments of the day!

  • SHARE THE WARMTH DRIVE SCORES BIG WITH CARING FOR OUR NEIGHBORS

Whoever said a small school community could not have great impact.  Midtown Academy certainly puts that myth to rest.  During the month of December Midtown Academy collected socks, mittens, gloves, hats, and scarves to help keep guests of the neighborhood soup kitchen warm this winter.  The school body of 180 scholars, kindergarten through eighth grade, conducted a “Share the Warmth Campaign” to support a community in need. Each class donated items for both children and adults that may not have what they need to stay warm this season. Together the school collected over 500 items to support their neighbors.

To celebrate the excitement of the campaign the school created a little melody for the holidays:

Oh, the weather outside is frightful
But in here is so delightful
    Hats, Socks and Gloves
We’re collecting for the city we love!

Donated items were distributed to guests at the holiday dinner on December 20th, packaged in ribbons and bows.
