Dear Grove Park Parents and Community, 

Greetings! I am Tracye Carter, your new Managing Assistant Principal at Grove Park Elementary/Middle School. I am thrilled to begin the new school year GPEM, and look forward to meeting students, staff, parents, and community members.  

I have experienced the most wonderful welcome here at GPEM. August 15th was my official first day.  I was warmly greeted by several kind and dedicated staff members.  The dedicated team has been working hard to spruce up the building and prepare for the arrival of our students and our instructional and support staff.

As I make this transition to Grove Park, I am aware of the anticipation and eagerness that accompanies new leadership in any organization. I know that change can provoke both excitement and anxiety.  It is my goal to spend my first several months learning about our school, all of its stakeholders, and promoting student achievement.  I eagerly anticipate getting to know the GPEM community, and learning about your hopes and dreams for our school.  What is important to you about Grove Park Elementary/Middle School?  What do you want to learn more about?  What are you proud of? What do we want to work on? 
 
Determining the answers to these questions is one of my entry goals.  I believe that genuine collaboration fosters ownership of a rich school culture.  Supporting our students to do well at school, and in their lives, is the center of our work.  I am honored to have been selected to serve this community, and will work hard to gain your trust and respect as Grove Park's leader.  
 
Please feel free to stop in and introduce yourselves to me in the coming days as we begin a new school year.  I look forward to meeting and working with all of you to make Grove Park Elementary/Middle School GREAT!
