The Mount Washington School is an International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) World School. We became an IB World School on August 11, 2014.
This website includes information about the logistics of the daily operations of the school, student life, and community involvement. You will find information about contacting the health suite, procedures students and parents are expected to follow during arrival and dismissal, and names and contact information for our various parent groups. The site also includes pertinent policies and calendars with important events that are scheduled every year.
Drew Daywalt is now scheduled to visit our school and present to students in grades K-4 on Monday, February 22. Many students purchased his books earlier this school year for autographing. There is now another opportunity to order his books and the form is attached to this Tuesday Folder. Deadline for orders of autographed books is February 1.
The annual Snowball Dance for girls (K-8) and their dad or significant male role model will take place Saturday, March 5, 2016 in the UB Gym from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Come enjoy a night of dancing, food and fun! Tickets are $25 per couple and $10 for each additional girl. You don’t want to miss the dance this year…there will be a photographer, raffles, a live DJ, andlots more! Pay at the door with cash, check or credit card.
Join us on Sauturday, May 14th from 6 pm to 10 pm at the Radisson Hotel in Cross Keys for the PTO annual fundraiser. Past auction items have included items such as gift cards to Target to vacation stays in Pennsylvania all ranging from $20 to over $1,000. It’s a fun-filled evening for the MWS community, with good food, exciting auction items, fun music and dancing.
School tours, for students and families interested in the Mount Washington School, will be held once a month (see calendar). All tours will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Lower Building, 5800 Smith Avenue, and will conclude by 10:30 a.m. in the Upper Building, 1801 Sulgrave Avenue. Tour capacity is limited; please call the main office at 410-396-6354 at least 24 hours in advance of the tour to register.
