We are in the middle of the 4th quarter of S.O.A.R.ing to exceptional heights!!!

PARCC begins this week for grades 3 - 6.  This assessment measures how our students are able to synthesize the Common Core State Standards.  Morrell Park Elementary Middle School utilizes the Common Core State Standards as the curricular foundation that will place students on the pathway to becoming college and career ready.  We offer a variety of academic programs to assist students as they gather college and career awareness knowledge: Gifted and Talented, Special Education Program that features inclusion, self-contained classes, and small pull-out groups, intervention groups and after-school tutoring/programs that are all designed to meet the needs of targeted learners.

To provide a safe learning environment, we will continue wearing our school uniforms and follow Baltimore City's dress code in reference to shorts and opened toe shoes.  Students are not allowed to wear shorts that are inappropriate (have to pass the finger tip test).  Flip flops, thongs, and any shoes with opened toes are not allowed for safety reasons.  We will call parents to bring up another pair or shoes.  Students will not be allowed to participate in gym or recess without the appropriate shoes.

Let’s SOAR to the top this 4th quarter with Behavior, Academics, and Attendance!!!  It takes a community to develop a whole child and I continuously applaud you for being part of theMPEMS community!
