READING, WRITING, and all the Rest!

Students are encouraged to read at home every day. Help your child to choose books that are appropriate and on grade level. All students have completed reading level assessments that identify their current levels. Parents are asked to speak with their child's teacher for guidance on the level of books their child should be reading. Our goal is for every child to GROW at least one grade level in reading this year.

Mathematics is important too! Parents you can help your child by talking about math during shopping trips, driving across town, and making dinner. Be sure to check with your child's math teacher for the topics being covered in class and tips and strategies you can use to help your child. Our goal is for every child to GROW at least one grade level in mathematics this year.

ALL students have homework nightly and are expected to complete their assignments and submit them the following day. Students who are experiencing difficulty are encouraged to attend Coach Class. Days and Dates for Coach Classes are posted in each classroom and on file in the Main Office.

Every student works hard to become a Hazelwood Hero in academics and everything else.
