GreetingsCurtis Bay Elementary/Middle School Parents/Guardians:

 

Iwould like to officially welcome you to the 2014-2015 school year!  We want to emulate an atmosphere that is warmand where learning is enjoyed.  CurtisBay was recognized this year for achieving the GOLD award for the PositiveBehavioral Intervention Systems (PBIS) in Maryland.  We will continue our educational/social partnershipsthis year with Junior Achievement, Therapeutic Living for Families, Girl Scoutsof America, Maryland Food Bank, the Lions Club, etc.  We will need parent volunteers to assure thesuccess of these partnerships. 

 

VolunteerRegistration/Background Checks is offered to all parents who would like tovolunteer.  This allows you volunteer atschool as well as attend field trips with students.  A flyer is enclosed with the directions forregistration. 

 

ParentPortal access is available to all parents and is found on our school website www.baltimorecityschools.org/207.  We highly recommend that you utilize thisservice as soon as possible to receive your child’s username and password, ifyou have not already done so. 

 

Itis important and will be stressed that your child reports to school and adheresto the City School’s Dress Code.  Enclosedyou will find the school’s uniform standard and will be on sale at the MainOffice.  Please feel free to donate gentlyused school uniforms to the school.    

IMPORTANT DATES:  Annual Meet Me at the Bay Garden Party (OpenHouse) at the Filbert Street Garden-Friday, August 22, 2014 from 11AM to 2PM;First Day for All Students-Monday, August 25, 2014 at 7:45AM for classroombreakfast and dismissed at 2:25PM; additionally, Back-To-School Night-Thursday,September 18, 2014 from 5 to 7PM.    

 

Enclosedare the recommended school supply lists as well as the new entry/dismissal andvisitor policy. Momentum and planning is taking place to make this year anexciting year!  I look forward to seeing all of you very soon!
