Message From The Principal
Dear Student, Parents & Staff:

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you back to Excel Academy for the 2014-2015 School Year. This year will be an exciting year, as many of you are aware the Baltimore City Public Schools Board of Commissioners has approved the expansion of middle grades.  I am honored and excited about not only having the opportunity to work with staff and students, but also the opportunity to develop relationships with parents, community, and business community.

We want you to know our commitment at Excel Academy is to develop a positive culture that is conducive to learning and a school community that is built on trust and hard work. As we begin to work together I want you to know my dedication to developing your child into positive members in our community.  In order to achieve this, we must provide our students with some essential skills and tools that will be needed in today’s society.

1.     Promote continuous learning

2.     Problem solving

3.     Conflict resolution

4.     Technology literate

5.     Listening

6.     Team building

These are a few skills that our students will need in order to be competitive in a global economy. Excel Academy is committed to developing programs and curricula that will provide our students with the enrichment and learning experience that will be needed to be successful citizens regardless of their chosen field of endeavor.

To our students, I ask that you reflect on your goals and strive not only to pursue personal excellence but also to demonstrate your perseverance and integrity. Know that I am here to support and encourage you as you explore different possibilities and grow as learners. Remember that with these opportunities, comes both a personal and collective responsibility to be supportive of one another. I will count on you to go beyond tolerance and treat all members of our community with respect. A school that aspires to greatness can expect no less.
To our parents, it is through your support that we made a significant difference in the lives of your child. As we strive to take Excel Academy to the standing of an exemplary high school, our partnership becomes that much more critical. The Excel Academy community has dedicated itself completely to the education of its student and thank you for having placed great trust in in our staff.  I understand the importance of this trust and vow to work for the best interests of each student.
To our staff, I pledge my commitment to work together as we strive to fulfill our district’s vision, ”Accelerating the academic achievement of all students, in partnership with the entire community to ensure that students have the attitudes, skills, and proficiencies needed to succeed in college and in the 21st century global workforce."
In preparing our students for this 21st century world, we must find our strength in a shared determination to inspire students to find their passion and to challenge them to follow their dreams. While assuring that we do their part to ensure that they have the skills necessary to achieve those dreams.

Serving as principal at Excel Academy is as great an honor as it is a responsibility.  I believe that the foundation of our future accomplishments is grounded in the power of our combined efforts and the strength of our synergy.

I look forward to having the opportunity to meet you and feel free to contact me at (410) 396-1290. Thanks again for giving Excel Academy the opportunity to educate your child and have a great year.
