Welcome to George W.F. McMechen High School,
"Diverse Needs, One School"
George W.F. McMechen Senior High School is a separate public day school for students with moderate to severe disabilities. The disabilities served include intellectual limitation, autism, orthopedic, hearing and vision impairment. The school is located in the Garrison Hill Community in northwest Baltimore. Students are identified and placed through the IEP process and are transported to school via yellow bus from communities throughout Baltimore City.
Currently McMechen graduates have transitioned into active, contributing citizens through employment agencies such as Alliance, ARC of Baltimore and Chimes. In addition, several students are afforded the opportunities to participate in the Baltimore Transition Connection Program that is housed at John Hopkins University, Coppin State College, and Baltimore City Community College Liberty Campus; and the Project Search Programs.
Thank you for visiting our school, please come again.
Sincerely,
