Mission Statement:

The Human Resources Office of Recruitment and Staffing is dedicated to the recruitment of highly qualified teachers and staff and supports and assists City Schools school administrators and employees in the resolution of all personnel related matters.

Overview of Department:

The Human Resources Office of Recruitment and Staffing

• recruits and processes all new school-based and central office personnel.  
• reviews all applicants for eligibility and issues certificates in accordance with Maryland State Department of Education guidelines.
• conducts new employee orientation and assists in resolving all personnel related issues. 

Important Information for City Schools Employees:

Resignation Submission Deadline for Probationary Teachers - May 1
Resignation Submission Deadline for Conditional Teachers - June 1
Resignation Submission Deadline for Tenured Teachers - July 15

Only professionally certified and tenured teachers (3 Years of service with City Schools) are eligible to apply for a Voluntary Transfer. Registration for a voluntary transfer is done on line and takes place in the early Spring just prior to the Voluntary Transfer Fair. HR will provide all school administrators with information pertinent to the voluntary transfer process in the February/March timeframe.
