Office of Student Records
Goals
- Manage and oversee the student records program to assure that the programs meet current court mandates and structures of state and federal laws, regulations and board of education policies.
- Develop and write administrative procedures and bulletins to alert staff of relevant changes in record keeping.
- Interpret, direct, resolve and/or respond to office, school and community informational requests.
- Develop Student Records Manual, brochures, and other publications, and revise as needed.
- Monitor system-wide student record content, forms, organization, security, and transmittal.
- Develop and provide system-wide professional development training to persons with record keeping responsibilities.
- Consult with the board of education legal department and other appropriate school system personnel regarding specific student record issues.
- Coordinate and direct the microfilming of graduate and withdrawn student records for permanent retention and retrieval.
- Meet with other offices, schools, and jurisdictions to develop ways to improve the quality and reliability of the BCPSS records
