Mission Statement:
The mission of the Office of Academic Achievement in the Division of Teaching and Learning is to support the high academic achievement of all students by enhancing the quality of teaching. We will promote continuous improvement and excellent teaching practices by providing high quality guidance, assistance, and professional development which support teachers’ acquisition of knowledge and skills. Moreover, the Office of Academic Achievement will provide rigorous curricula and assessments that inform instruction, promoting ongoing student achievement.
What We Do:
The Office of Academic Achievement (OAA) collaborates with administrators and teachers to provide guidance to instructional programs, ensuring that schools make adequate yearly progress (AYP) and students meet requirements for graduation.
Upon request, staff in the OAA provides professional development to schools, helping them to determine alignment of instruction to curriculum in tested areas in order to meet state requirements for AYP and high school graduation.
Staff provides guidance on the various forms of assessment in order to inform instruction and promote student achievement.
